In a primary school in the Kenyan bush, hundreds of children are competing for the free education newly promised by the government. One applicant is an 84-year-old Mau Mau veteran who is desperate to learn to read—even if it means sitting alongside 6-year-olds. The head teacher supports his struggle and together they face fierce opposition from parents and officials who don't want to waste a precious school place on such an old man.
All are welcome, but seating is limited. First come, first seated. Doors open 15 minutes before films begin.
