Girls Softball Optimistic For Upcoming Season
Hilltoppers open season with four-game road trip.
After a 1-4 start to last season, the girls softball team is hoping for a better beginning as it opens its campaign Friday at Plainfield to start a four-game road trip.
New Providence (April 2), Union Catholic (April 5) and Roselle Park (April 7) follow, before their home opener against in-city rival Oak Knoll (April 8) to start a three-game homestand.
"I'm very optimistic about the upcoming season as there is a lot of improved talent on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball," said first-year coach Rachel Gordon. "The team is molding together easily and I'm looking forward to the start."

Gordon returns three seniors, featuring co-captain Lauren Miller at third base, with Rose Cromwell and Janine Barr anchoring a strong outfield. Ali Hosely, the team’s other captain, heads a group of four juniors for Summit (7-13).
