Gunner Is Summit's Pet Of The Week

SUMMIT, NJ — Meet Gunner! He has been chosen as Summit Patch's Pet Of The Week.

"We would like to nominate our German Shepherd, Gunner, for the Summit Patch pet of the week. Gunner is 5 years old and he came to us at 5 months old from a German Shepherd breeder in Georgia. He is a low drive dog and the perfect pet for our family. My husband grew up with German Shepherds all his life so having this breed in our household is not surprising. We sometimes refer to Gunner as our German Shedder or German Shredder.

Gunner is a great listener (sometimes the only one that listens in our house), an awesome protector of our 9 year old daughter, Chloe, and truly the best companion for all of us. Gunner is not fond of cats or squirrels, loves to play with other dogs in the neighborhood and he absolutely loves to watch TV but he is not a fan of Wheel of Fortune. We sure hope Gunner is around for a long, long time!!"

Participating in the Pet of the Week happenings is simple: submit your nomination by emailing alexis.tarrazi@patch.com. Be sure to include a photograph or two of your pet, a paragraph about what makes him or her so great, and the part of town you're from. You can choose to include your name, but you don't need to. Then just keep an eye out for a photo of your pet on the Patch!

The photo can be of a present pet, or it can be a baby picture of the adult pet you're so proud of today.
