Holy Week at St. John's, Summit
Community is invited to St. John's Lutheran Church for Holy Week and Easter Sunday services.

St. John's Lutheran Church in Summit invites the community to our observance of Holy Week. The services of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter are the heart of the Christian year. They tell the story of Christ’s death and resurrection—his victory over death for the world’s salvation.
On Easter Sunday, April 1st, St. John’s will be pulling out all the stops! Services are at 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM. At the 10:30 AM service, our professional brass quintet, organ, handbells, percussion, and choirs will be leading music by Bach, Handel, and Praetorius along with newer music and global music. The perennial favorite of the all-in “Hallelujah!” chorus from Handel's Messiah is not to be missed! At 9 AM, all are welcome to Easter Brunch and an Easter Egg Hunt for young children.
Easter Sunday is preceded by Holy Week services. Maundy Thursday worship, on March 29th, will be held at 12:00 noon and 7:30 PM. Good Friday, March 30th, begins with the Community Good Friday Walk at 9:30 AM, starting at Central Presbyterian Church and ending at St. John's Church. Good Friday services at St. John's will be offered at 12 Noon and 7:30 PM. The Easter Vigil, on March 31st, begins at 7:30 PM. This glorious services recounts God’s salvation throughout history, welcomes new Christians through baptism, and begins the Easter celebration. The Easter Vigil concludes with a champagne reception.
