Hospital In Summit Ranked As One Of 50 Best In Country
Healthgrades says you have a 26.6 percent lower chance of dying if you use this hospital or one of the others on their top-250 list.
SUMMIT, NJ – A healthcare information company has released its latest rankings of the best hospitals in the United States. Of 250 hospitals on the nationwide list, five were in New Jersey, and the Garden State placed two in the top 50 — including one right in Summit.
Healthgrades, the company that published the rankings, said patients treated in hospitals on the top-250 list have a 26.6 percent lower chance of dying than if they are treated in hospitals that aren't named to the rankings. And for those in the top 50, the chances of dying are even lower than that.
Healthgrades evaluated hospital performance for 32 procedures and conditions, such as treatment of heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, respiratory failure, sepsis and stroke.
