Hot Summer Nights In Summit To Feature Community Night On Village Green

Local nonprofits and a free concert are scheduled for July 13.

SUMMIT, NJ — Local nonprofits will have an opportunity to introduce themselves to residents and share information about their work during Community Night on the Village Green later this month.

The event is scheduled for Monday, July 13, at the Village Green on Broad Street and is being held as part of Summit's Hot Summer Nights concert series.

Beginning in the early evening, community organizations from across Summit and the surrounding area are expected to set up tables and speak with residents about their programs, services and volunteer opportunities.

The event is designed to give local groups a chance to connect directly with the community and highlight the work they do throughout the year.

Following Community Night activities, the band Element K is scheduled to perform beginning at 7 p.m. as part of the city's ongoing summer concert series.

Residents planning to attend are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets for the outdoor performance.

City officials said admission to the event is free. Summit's summer concerts and movies are held as alcohol- and tobacco-free events.

Organizations interested in participating in Community Night can register through the city and are responsible for bringing their own tables, chairs and any display materials they plan to use.
