Investors Bank Field Project Construction Continues Through Rain

Visitor-side bleachers should be completed by the third week of April. Home-side bleachers will be installed, inspected sometime in May.

SUMMIT, NJ — Construction for the bleacher and press box replacement project at Investors Bank Field in Summit continues despite the wet weather.

The project remains on schedule with bleachers on both sides of the field, press box and sound system complete in time for Summit High School graduation in late June, the city announced.

Through recent snow and rain conditions, contractors are laying the new aluminum planks and footboards on both the visitors and home sides of the field.

As each section of bleachers is completed and passes the necessary inspections, it will be opened for public use. Visitor-side bleachers are expected to be complete by the third week of April. Home-side bleachers will be installed and inspected sometime in May. The new press box will arrive in early May for installation. The new sound system has been installed.

During sporting events until construction is complete, spectators are able to access a set of temporary bleachers on the visitor-side of the field or stand along the exterior track throughout the facility. An additional area for viewing during games will be established on the track and delineated by barricades.

Spectators are asked to obey all construction signs and do not to climb on fenced-off bleachers to avoid injury. They should also wear boots as construction during rainy weather has resulted in muddy conditions. Any damage to grass during the project will be repaired by the contractor.

The end result of the project will be seating that meets all necessary codes in Summit maroon team colors. The new press box will be a practical addition for game observation and video recording, and include a new sound system that can provide music and wireless communication with people on the field.
