The Junior League of Summit is pleased to announce their 2022 Scholarships Program.

From June 1 - June 15, 2022, The Junior League of Summit will be accepting applications for both the Shirley Wight Keeney Voluntarism Scholarship and the Junior League of Summit Continuing Education Scholarship.

Shirley Wight Keeney Scholarship

The Shirley Wight Keeney Scholarship is a $3,000 award given to a graduating high school senior who demonstrates a commitment to voluntarism in his/her community.

The Scholarship is open to students who meet the following criteria:

  1. Applicants must live or attend school in Berkeley Heights, Chatham, New Providence or Summit;
  2. Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence within their high school graduating class throughout their high school career;
  3. Applicants must be continuing their education at an accredited two- or four-year college or business/vocational school;
  4. Applicants must show significant volunteer work during their high school years that aligns with the Junior League of Summit's mission.

Junior League of Summit Continuing Education Scholarship

The Junior League of Summit Continuing Education Scholarship is a $3,000 award given to an adult woman who has demonstrated a commitment to voluntarism in her community and is pursuing additional education or certification.
The Scholarship is open to women who meet the following criteria:

  1. Applicants must live in Berkeley Heights, Chatham, New Providence, or Summit;
  2. Applicants must be pursuing additional education as adults;
  3. Applicants must be continuing their education at an accredited two- or four-year college or business/vocational school, including certificate programs; and
  4. Applicants must show significant volunteer work in the last three years that aligns with the Junior League of Summit’s mission.

Relatives of members of the Junior League of Summit are not eligible to apply for either scholarship.

All materials must be received by June 15.

The scholarship recipients will be asked to provide the contact information for their school/college as the scholarship will be paid directly to the institution.
