Junior League of Summit’s Reports Successful Turnout at Community Leadership Forum
March 8, 2019 - The Junior League of Summit (JLS) hosted a Community Leadership Forum on February 28 focusing on awareness about unconscious bias and social stereotypes. The forum, which took place at Summit Speech School, featured speaker Katherin Nukk Freeman, Co-Founder and President of SHIFT HR Compliance Training, who conducted an engaging and informative presentation focusing on identifying unconscious bias and creating a culture where others are empowered to speak up. Ms. Freeman’s presentation was well received by the dozens of community members that attended the event. “In light of recent events in our community, we felt the time was right to have a conversation about Unconscious Bias; and our Community Forums are a perfect venue. Thank you to Katherin for eye opening and worthwhile presentation,” said JLS President, Erika Melchiorre.

The JLS hopes that this program informed attendees about social awareness both in the workplace and in the community and encourages people to create a culture in which our community members feel included, supported and valued.
