Scotch Plains resident Isabella Mancene, a junior at Kent Place School, a non-sectarian, all-girls independent school in Summit, NJ, participated in the Girls’ School Advantage Panel on Sunday, May 1. The event was hosted by the National Coalition of Girls’ Schools (NCGS) and took place at the New York Academy of Medicine in New York City.
The 2015-2016 Girls’ School Advantage program is sponsored by “Girl Up,” an innovative campaign of the United Nations Foundation. As a founding member of the NCGS, Kent Place regularly contributes to the coalition’s activities and participates in annual conferences. This year, a call for student volunteers was issued to the Upper School student body, and Mancene was selected to represent Kent Place on the panel. "I couldn’t wait to speak to inquiring families about the tremendous benefits of an all-girls education, and I hope that I gave them new insights into this topic based on my personal experience at Kent Place," she said. Isabella is an active member of the Kent Place community, serving as a member of Girls Leading and Making a Difference (GLAM’D) and as a class representative for Social Committee.
The only non-sectarian girls' day school in New Jersey, Kent Place provides a challenging and fulfilling education for more than 600 students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. Kent Place also offers a coed Junior Pre-Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten program, The Preschool at Kent Place. The 26-acre campus in Summit, NJ, draws families from more than 80 communities. Kent Place is now accepting applications for fall 2016 enrollment based on availability. For more information, contact admission@kentplace.org.
