Missing Summit Resident Found Monday After Helicopter Search

SUMMIT, NJ - A missing Summit resident believed to be a danger to himself was found late Monday night by authorities.

The 51-year-old Glenside Avenue resident, who was not identified by name by Summit police, was reported to be missing in a statement posted to Facebook by authorities shortly before 10 p.m.

The Summit resident reportedly left home on foot around three hours before the statement was posted, police said. Residents were encouraged to call 911 if he was seen in the area.

Police helicopter activity could be heard Monday night near Glenside Avenue/Stiles Road.

The resident was found by authorities just before 11:30 p.m. and was placed in protective custody, police said.
