Multi-Family Home Fire Under Investigation In Summit

SUMMIT, NJ — A fire broke out in a multi-family home on North Street on Sunday at 8:42 p.m.

The Summit Fire Department responded and found fire in a room on the third floor that had extended down to the second floor, Summit spokeswoman Amy Cairns said.

The fire was declared under control at 9:02 p.m. There were no reported injuries to residents or responding firefighters, Cairns said.

The Summit Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Summit Police Department and the Summit
Volunteer First Aid Squad. Mutual aid was provided at the scene by Millburn and New Providence Fire
Departments.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Summit Fire Department Investigation Unit.
