Very glad to have seen this one with THE MATINEE CLUB on the big screen. While if can feel slow at times, you don't want to miss this career performance from Bruce Dern in director Alexander Payne's visual, visceral, bleak slice of life in the Midwest. The attention to detail and the stoic yet quietly emotional performances are memorable. It's Payne's Wizard of Oz Kansas as compared to his Land of Oz "Descendants".
