New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble (NJDTE) and Reeves-Reed Arboretum will collaborate for the fifth consecutive summer to present the 2019 INKUBATE® Dance Festival, a site-specific series of three dance performances throughout the gardens of the Arboretum in Summit, NJ.

“We continue to realize our vision of establishing Summit as a serious destination for dance and culture in the region. It is important to see opportunities and think ‘out of the box’, which is what initiated the concept of INKUBATE® = DANCE + NATURE, a unique site-specific, outdoor dance festival,” says NJDTE Artistic Director Nancy Turano.

Since 2015, NJDTE has provided an Artist-in-Residency® program for contemporary dance artists and choreographers at their NJDTE studios in downtown Summit. These curated residencies culminate in INKUBATE® outdoor performances at nearby Reeves-Reed Arboretum. Turano invites contemporary choreographers and provides space for them investigate movement which enables them to grow their ideas into a body of work. These artists then can further that exploration in one of the INKUBATE® site-specific dance events.
