New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble (NJDTE) celebrates its 50th Anniversary Season and Artistic Director Nancy Turano’s 25th Anniversary. The event will include a studio naming for founding Artistic Director Alfredo Corvino, performances by current dancers, alumni and guest artists, and a garden party reception to honor the brilliant legacy of the past and vision for the future.

NJDTE was founded when local dance teachers joined forces to advance dance education for their New Jersey students. They invited prominent Ballet Master Alfredo Corvino to be the founding Artistic Director in 1969.

“When I became the Artistic Director in 1994, there were two levels of classes on Sundays in a high school gym. I immediately shifted the organization to a non-profit and moved our residence to Drew University where we remained for 20 years until we built our new 9,000 square foot home in Summit in 2015,” says NJDTE Artistic Director Nancy Turano.
