SUMMIT, NJ – Celebrate the spirit of the holidays with New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble (NJDTE), as the company returns to Montclair with its full-length production of “The Nutcracker” in its 48th anniversary season. Set to the classic music of Peter Tchaikovsky and choreographed by NJDTE Artistic Director Nancy Turano, the ballet features over 55 talented young dancers ages 7 through 18 from across New Jersey alongside renowned guest artists.
Turano, a former resident of Montclair, said, “I am thrilled to bring ‘The Nutcracker’ to this thriving cultural community for a third season. As a hub for forward-thinking arts initiatives, Montclair is a perfect match for NJDTE and our mission of cultivating contemporary, progressive dance programming and training right here in New Jersey.”

An extraordinary group of international dance artists, including Princess Grace Award recipient Lyvan Esteban Verdicia of Ballet Hispanico as Father/Russian/Arabian, and Marie-Lorène Fichaux, formerly of Paris Opera Ballet and currently with the Lyon Opera Ballet dancing the classic role of Sugar Plum Fairy, join the Ensemble for three captivating performances. Mikhail Ilyin, formerly of Miami City Ballet and American Ballet Theatre, will appear as her Cavalier. Also joining the cast are celebrated dancers Christopher Bloom of Ballet Hispanico in the role of Drosselmeyer/Mother Gigone, and as the Grandmother, former New Jersey Ballet prima ballerina Rosemary Sabovick-Bleich.
All performances take place at Memorial Auditorium at Montclair State University, 1 Normal Avenue, Montclair, NJ on Saturday, December 9 at 1:00pm and 5:00pm, and Sunday, December 10 at 2:00pm. Tickets are $25-$35, and are available online at www.njdte.tix.com.

Montclair State University is located on Valley Rd. and Normal Ave. in Montclair, NJ. The University's main entrance is on Normal Avenue.
From Points North
Take Garden State Parkway to Route 46 West (exit 154). Exit onto Valley Road (South) toward Montclair.
From Points South
Take Garden State Parkway to Route 3 West (exit 153B). Exit onto Valley Road (South) toward Montclair.
Public Transportation

On-Site Parking
Parking is available at the Red Hawk Parking Lot for $6.00 using parking vending machines. The Memorial Auditorium is a short walk from the lot.
