No Smoking Signs Set Up In Summit

SUMMIT, NJ – In response to the New Jersey Smoke-Free Air Act N.J.S.A. 26:3D-55 that took effect on Jan. 16, the City of Summit has installed no smoking signs in all municipally-owned parks and athletic facilities, including Soldiers Memorial Field, Investors Bank Field, Wilson Park, Long Field, Glenside Field, Mabie Memorial Playground, and the Summit Village Green.

The smoking ban will be enforced by the Summit Police Department and the fines are:

  • $250 for a first offense
  • $500 for a second offense
  • $1,000 for all further violations
