This parent-focused cooking school is offering classes in and around Summit to help you cook better food for your family.

SUMMIT, NJ — Peasful Kitchen, a parent-focused cooking school that started in Hoboken in 2013, has expanded into the Summit area and beyond.

The Summit local grew up on a farm in Sweden, where her mom taught her first hand about farm-to-table cooking and she continues to cook this way for her family. She was also a former Chef for the Swedish Ambassador in Switzerland.

“I thought this would be a good fit for me as a licensed dietitian for anyone who has questions that come up when we are cooking,” Von Zelowitz said. “I want to get people to be more confident in the kitchen.”

From cooking baby food from scratch to family dinners, Von Zelowitz welcomes classes into her home or will come to you to teach them everything they need to know to create healthy and tasty meals.

“Our classes are the perfect solution for all families, who want to give their child the best food from the start, who are dealing with a picky eater, or want to cook the healthiest meals for their family,” Von Zelowitz said.

Von Zelowitz teaches primarily out of her Summit home but also will come to you. She will come to baby showers or a girls night with all the groceries and equipment you’ll need and cleanup is taken care of as well.

Classes can be a one-on-one private class or a group class. Classes range from organic baby and toddler food to an elegant ladies lunch (that includes a meal you pack up for dinner) to stock-the-freezer classes.

Currently Von Zelowitz is teaching classes in Summit, Westfield, Short Hills, Madison and any other nearby towns.
