Peter Yarrow Back by Popular Demand to Open Fourth Season of St. John’s Summit Concert Series

The St. John's Summit Concert Series is pleased to be welcoming back Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul & Mary) on November 17

Now entering its fourth season of music, the St. John’s Summit Concert Series (SJSCS) is pleased to be welcoming back Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul & Mary). Yarrow will open the season on Friday, November 17 at 7:00 pm, accompanied this time by Rev. Robert B. Jones and Matt Watroba.

For the first time in its history, SJSCS’s season will feature only vocal artists, with other performances by Yale University a capella group The Spizzwinks and multiple Grammy-award winning performers Sweet Honey in the Rock.

“We are very excited that this season we are continuing to grow musically,” said Kenneth Bryson, president of the St. John’s Summit Concert Series. “We are particularly happy to have Peter Yarrow return to follow up on his amazing performance two seasons ago.”

Mr. Yarrow, the legendary folk singer best known for hits such as Leaving On A Jet Plane, Puff the Magic Dragon, and Where Have All the Flowers Gone, last played in Summit in 2016, accompanied by Mustard’s Retreat (David Tameluvich and Michael Hough). This year Yarrow and the duo of Jones and Watroba will perform a different selection of tunes with a different feel. Jones and Watroba have been performing together for more than 20 years, playing a catalog of American Roots music (folk, blues, spirituals, work songs, chants, etc.).

Tickets to the concert are on sale and can be purchased through the new SJSCS website, sjscs.org, or by phone at (908) 206-4250. Ticket prices are $40 for general admission and $30 for children 12 and under.
