Road Work Ahead: Expect Delays At Multiple Summit Intersections This Week

Drivers may encounter road closures and detours at several locations through Frida

SUMMIT, NJ — If you're driving around Summit this week, you may want to leave a few extra minutes for your commute.

The City of Summit is advising motorists to expect road work, possible closures and detours at multiple intersections and roadways throughout the city from Monday, July 13, through Friday, July 17. Officials said the schedule is subject to change as utility companies update their work plans.

Among the locations scheduled for work throughout the week are:

  • Beechwood Road and Springfield Avenue
  • Canoe Brook Parkway and Bedford Road
  • Canoe Brook Parkway near Iris Road
  • Beekman Road and High Street
  • Blackburn Road and Oak Knoll Road
  • Chatham Road and River Road
  • Mountain Avenue and Elm Street
  • Prospect Street and Tulip Street
  • Silver Lake Drive and Plymouth Road
  • Mount Vernon Avenue and Harvey Drive

In addition, milling and paving work is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday on William Street, Sayre Street and Doremus Avenue.

Most work is expected to take place during daytime hours, generally between 7 a.m. or 8 a.m. and approximately 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., depending on the location.
