SAGE's Artwork Exhibited at Union County Freeholders Gallery

Art by Spend-A-Day Participants on View Through February 14

Artwork created by participants of SAGE Eldercare's Spend-A-Day program is on display at the Union County Freeholders Gallery now through February 14th.

The exhibit is made possible, in part, by the 2018 HEART (History, Education, Arts Reaching Thousands) Grant from the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders. Additional funding comes from individual donors. The Art from the Heart program is made possible by a grant the Visual Art Center receives from the Summit Area Public Foundation, a community foundation that provides grants to tax-exempt organizations in the Summit area. Art from the Heart is designed to enhance memory in seniors coping with cognitive challenges.

SAGE’s Spend-A-Day Adult Day Health Center provides older adults with structured social, physical and cognitive activities, meals planned by a registered dietician, and support for participants and families from a geriatric social worker. Spend-A-Day is licensed by the Department of Health and Senior Services as an adult day medical program and is staffed with a full time nurse to medically supervise the participants. Additional support is provided by physical, occupational and speech therapists. Since 1975, SAGE’s Spend-A-Day Adult Day Health Center has been providing much needed respite for family and caregivers and a home-away-from-home for the participants in a safe and secure environment.
