Several Kids' Halloween Events Planned In Downtown Summit

SUMMIT, NJ —Downtown Summit has added several "spooky" events for fall, and individual stores are also having Halloween-related promotions.

On Friday, Oct. 29, children are invited to put on their costumes and venture into Downtown Summit after school for Downtown Trick-or-Treat. Downtown businesses displaying a Trick-or-Treat poster in their window will be waiting to hand out treats from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

Also, Downtown Summit will be celebrating Halloween with a Sunday Funday at the Summit Farmers Market the weekend before. Fall Family Photo Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 24. "SDI encourages people to dress in their costumes or use the props available at the photo booth," says the downtown organization. "Everyone gets printed photo strips to take home, plus a digital copy, too. It will be a great chance to get fun family photos, and it’s free for everyone!"

Among the businesses hosting events and promotions, families can enjoy Halloween fun with a Kids Night Out at Color Me Mine. Paint a pottery piece and take part in fun activities while watching a Halloween movie. Kids ages 6 and over may be dropped off. Younger kids are welcome to attend with a parent. Parents are welcome to paint in the pottery room while the kids are having fun in the party room. Participants will recieve 20 percent off any pottery during this event.
