St. John's Carolers Bring Christmas Cheer
St. John's Carolers spread Christmas Cheer caroling in Summit on Dec. 17, 2017.

The old English Christmas carol, “Here we come a-wassailing,” and many other familiar carols were heard on the streets of Summit on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 17th, 2017, as young and older members and friends of St. John’s Lutheran Church (587 Springfield Ave., Summit, NJ) walked around town serenading shoppers, diners, residents, and travelers throughout the city. Trumpeters Stephanie Rothman and Pastor Gladys G. Moore accompanied the group which was joined by people all along the route who stopped to listen in or sing. The last stop on the route was a special visit to the Vito Gallo senior residence where Kirsten Meyer (French horn), Nick Meyer (trombone), Mark Nedde (trombone), and Harold Clark (tuba) added their instruments to the ensemble. The carolers and residents sang and heard “Silent Night,” “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” “Joy to the World,” “Jingle Bells,” and many other well-known and well-loved carols. Refreshments provided by Linda Clark were enjoyed by all afterward.
