Summit Common Council To Meet After Election Day
A recent meeting saw controversy over a "divisive" political Tweet. The councilman has since deleted it.

SUMMIT, NJ — The Summit Common Council will meet next on Wednesday, the day after Election Day. The agenda will be posted here.
By then, voters should know the results of Tuesday's election for Summit Common Council. (Here are profiles of the two candidates running for the 1st Ward seat. Second Ward Councilwoman/Council President Marjorie Fox is running unopposed.)
One recent meeting ran for two hours as the city discussed its social media policy for city employees, largely debating a recent "divisive Tweet" written on Sept. 23 by Ward 1 Councilman Danny O'Sullivan, about Republicans. At the Oct. 2 council meeting, O'Sullivan apologized for the since-deleted Tweet. (The video of that Oct. 2 meeting is here).

According to a story in TAPInto, O' Sullivan said, "I deeply regret the implications of that post and I apologize."
He also wrote in a series of five Tweets on Oct. 3, "In the future, if I choose to express my political views or promote candidates that I would like to see elected, I will do so in a positive and respectful way."
