Summit Firefighters Respond to Crash on Rt. 78 East; All Lanes Now Clear

Emergency crews responded to an accident with injuries at 7:35 a.m. Thursday.

New Jersey State Police at the Somerville Station have confirmed that a crash on the eastbound site of Rt. 78 has been cleared.

Troopers could not confirm any additional details about the early morning accident with injuries, but said at 8:45 a.m. that the wreck was removed from the roadway and all lanes were open.

Fire Chief Joseph Houck said units from Summit Fire Department responded to the crash around 7:35 a.m. at mile marker 46.7. Crews left the scene at about 8:04 a.m.
