Summit Honors Veteran Officers: Michael Alesandro

SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit Police Department is honoring officers who served in the armed forced for Veterans Day and one of those being highlighted is Officer Michael Alesandro.

This week, the Summit Police Department will be sharing some officers bios who have previously served in different branches of the military:

Officer Michael Alesandro, Specialist - United States Army

• 2012-2016: United States Army
• Stationed at Fort Drum, New York
• Basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia
• Assigned to 10th Mountain Light Infantry Division, Fort Drum , New York
• Air Assault Wing Recipient
• Successfully completed the Combat Life Saver's Course, achieving rank of Specialist
• 2015, deployed to Logar Province, Afghanistan for combat operations as Team Leader
• Awarded Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star
• Army Commendation Medal
• Two (2) Army Achievement Medals
• Army Good Conduct Medal
• National Defense Service Ribbon
• NATO Ribbon
• Honorably discharged in 2016

"Thank you, Officer Alesandro, for your bravery and service to our country," Summit Police said on social media.
