Summit Man Charged With Assault: Police
Omar Antonio Molina-Amaya was arrested after an incident with police.
SUMMIT, NJ - A 38-year-old Summit man was arrested and charged with simple assault after an incident with police, authorities said.
According to police, Omar Antonio Molina-Amaya was arrested and charged with simple assault, processed and released with a pending court date.
According to the New Jersey statute, simple assault is a disorderly persons criminal offense in New Jersey. A person can be guilty of simple assault if he or she causes bodily injury to another person or if he or she merely threatens to cause bodily injury to another person, police said.
