Summit Man's $15K Rolex Taken, Woman Loses $48K In Gold, Diamonds

In separate incidents, two Summit residents say that expensive jewelry was stolen from their homes, including a $15,000 Rolex watch.

SUMMIT, NJ — The Summit police are investigating two separate thefts of stolen jewelry, they said on Tuesday. According to police reports, a man said that a $15,000 Rolex watch was stolen from his home, and a woman said that over several months, $48,000 in gold and diamond jewelry was stolen from hers.

This past Monday, the Summit man told police that a Rolex Sea-Dweller watch was taken from a Prospect Hill residence. He said it happened between November of 2019 and Monday. He said the watch was last seen at the residence. He said the watch's value was $15,000.

And on Thursday, a woman told police that numerous pieces of jewelry disappeared from a residence some time between July 1 and September 30. These included a set of yellow gold bezel set diamond earrings, a gold bezel set diamond necklace, a diamond ring set, a yellow gold diamond pendant, and a gold ring with diamonds. She estimated the total value was $48,190. Police are investigating.
