(Professionalism, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence)," Ruf said. "Many times these public safety telecommunicators are the first line of assistance when the community calls into the dispatch center. Although they are rarely seen and heard by the public, dispatchers for the various public safety entities are the 'behind the scenes' link between those in need and those that can help. As a result, every year, we celebrate and honor our Department’s dispatchers by recognizing their contributions to helping keep our communities safe."
