Summit Police Receive Thanksgiving Surprise

SUMMIT, NJ - Three Summit children stopped by the Summit Police Department on Thursday to express their gratitude for those who protect and serve.

Although Officer’s Ryan Stanek and Sean Thompson were away from their families, they were greeted by a few very friendly visitors to the police department, officials said.

Officer Stanek met Brady, who wanted to express his gratefulness for the officers and delivered a handmade card. Stanek let Brady sit in his patrol car and even put the lights and siren on.

Officer Thompson met Georgia and Hadley who stopped by with a few homemade pies to share with the officers that were working and unable to share Thanksgiving with their families.

"We say it time and time again- Summit is the greatest town, with the kindest most giving residents and kids," the department posted to social media. "We hope everyone enjoyed their holiday."
