Summit Residents, Officials Honor Fallen Soldiers
Residents gathered Monday morning to honor service members who died while serving in the military.
SUMMIT, NJ — Residents gathered on the Village Green Monday morning for Summit’s annual Memorial Day ceremony following the cancellation of the city’s parade because of weather concerns earlier in the day.
The event included remarks from Mayor Elizabeth Fagan (see her remarks here), veterans, students, and members of the American Legion.
The Summit High School marching band also performed during the ceremony.

In a social media post after the event, the city thanked residents who attended and took part in honoring military members who died in service to the country.
