(UPDATED) Summit Schools Go Remote Friday; What About The Snow?
The Summit schools will have an early dismissal Wednesday. Read more below.

SUMMIT, NJ — The Summit schools will go remote starting Friday and continue that way until mid-January as a coronavirus precaution.
But the district will likely have another challenge to contend with this week: Snow.
- The schools will have an early dismissal on Wednesday. All afternoon remote instruction and after school activities will be cancelled. If the forecast changes and they need to shift to a fully remote instructional day, they will send an additional communication by 6 a.m. on Wednesday.
- If the storm becomes significant, schools will likely close for a traditional "Snow Day" at first. See the district's Snow Day policy here.
In Summit, Accuweather says that the storm will start on Wednesday afternoon with 2-4 inches, then add 3-6 overnight, as well as possible sleet.

Some North Jersey districts announced their plans for inclement weather over the weekend. While Hoboken will try to go remote if the weather is bad, others, like nearby Millburn, will start by giving the traditional days off.
Two superintendents in New Jersey said Monday that they feel that kids deserve the magic of a traditional Snow Day off after a tough year:

- Mahwah's superintendent said the days are for "memory making" and not remote learning.
- In Cinnaminson, the superintendent said, "Far too many chances for them to play and 'just be a kid' have been taken from them over the last nine months. It will be nice to see them enjoy one of the true gifts of childhood."
