Want To Understand Afghanistan, More? Course Offered In Union Co.

A professor will teach "American Involvement in Foreign Relations" virtually and in person via the Summit library. All towns are welcome.

SUMMIT, NJ — Do you wish you understood more about what was going on in the world, and America's involvement, but don't have time to read a lengthy history?

Professor Ian Drake will return to the Summit Free Public Library starting next month to teach a new course in the "Explore Your World Minicourses for Adults" program on the subject of American Involvement in Foreign Relations.

The program will be delivered live and via Zoom. Patrons who attend in person are asked to please wear face masks.

Dr. Drake, a professor at Montclair State University, teaches courses in political science and law.

The course begins Friday, Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and will run for consecutive Fridays at the same time.

Each week Dr. Drake will focus on a different area of the world. Those areas will be the Middle East, Asia, and Europe.

"Attendees will leave with a new appreciation of the complexities surrounding America’s involvement in foreign relations," the library notes. "There will be time to ask questions during each session."

To register for this program, please call the Summit Free Public Library at 908-273-0350, option 3. Phone lines open at 9 a.m., Monday-Saturday. On Sundays phone lines are open from 1-5 p.m.
