Wish You Knew What Trenton Was Thinking?

Plus: Breast Cancer support group and a book club!

As the weather heats up so do the activities going on in town! You can almost smell spring in the air. Here are the five things you need to know today. February 16, 2011.

  1. The Summit Municipal Democratic Committee will host a panel discussion tonight on what Summit can expect from Trenton in 2011. Discussion starts at 7 p.m. at city hall.
  2. Registration opens this morning at the Department of Community Programs for pool and golf memberships. https://register.communitypass.net/summit
  3. The Summit Boosters Association will host members of the John Taylor Babbitt Foundation to raise awareness regarding the issue of sudden cardiac death in athletes and the need for AED's (Automatic External Defibrillators) on playing fields. HCM, (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy) is the leading cause of sudden cardiac death in young athletes, accounting for 40 percent of such deaths. Meeting will take place in the Summit High School library at 7:30 p.m.
  4. There is a free breast cancer support group sponsored by Pathways at The Connection for Women and Families tonight at 6 p.m.
  5. Book club at the Barnes and Noble in Springfield. The Books We Like Book Group will discuss Jamie Ford's novel, Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet at 7:30 p.m.
