SUMMIT — You may have heard of the dine-and-dash, a term for eating at a restaurant and fleeing without paying. The Summit police say that a woman pulled what's apparently the gas station version in Summit on Dec. 19.

A worker at a gas station on Morris Essex Turnpike told police that in the evening, a woman in a white or light-colored Honda Accord asked an employee to fill the tank. According to the police report, "When the employee removed the gas nozzle from the vehicle, the operator accelerated and sped out of the lot."

Approximately $41 worth of gas was stolen, the station employees say. They filed a police report for theft of services.
