Bergen Man Turns Himself In Following Death Of Englewood Man In Hit-And-Run: Prosecutor
Juan Vasquez, 50 of Englewood, was killed Tuesday after he was struck while riding a bicycle, authorities said.

A Hackensack man was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident following an investigation into the death of an Englewood resident earlier this week.
Juan Vasquez, 50, died after he was hit by a vehicle while riding his bicycle at the intersection of East Englewood Avenue and Nelden Road in Teaneck Tuesday night, said Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli.

The driver, Daryl Watkins, 24 of Hackensack, kept going south on Nelden Road and fled the scene, Molinelli said.
Watkins turned himself into authorities after reading about Vasquez’ death, authorities said. He was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident, a second-degree crime.

Watkins was released after posting $25,000 bail, with a 10 percent cash option,. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Teaneck Municipal Court Oct. 5.
