 <td>As we prepare to enter the High Holy Day season, Selichot invites us to begin a journey of reflection, renewal, and hope. Join Josh Kohane for an evening of music that explores this journey through Broadway favorites, Jewish music, and contemporary songs that invite us to reflect on where we've been, embrace where we are, and look ahead with optimism to all that is yet to come. Josh will be accompanied by Tom Mustachio and joined by special guests Wendy Kosakoff, Nate Lewellyn, and Cantor Maria Dubinsky.
We hope you'll join us on September 5 at 7:30 for an evening of reflection, inspiration, and community as we begin the journey of the High Holy Days together. The concert will be followed by our Selichot service, at which we will reintroduce the melodies of the holidays and change our Torah covers to white. </td>

Keith Danish will speak about “Jews and the U.S. Labor Movement” to the History Club at the Paramus (NJ) Public Library (<a href="https://paramuslibrary.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://paramuslibrary.org/</a> ) on Monday, Sept. 14, at 1 pm. Coming right after Labor Day and during the Jewish High Holy Days, the talk will focus on Jewish idealism and tradition as an inspiration for labor and social justice movements, and "Social Unionism"; Jewish institutions and newspapers that supported the labor movement; Socialism and its influence on unionism; and how an immigrant group progressed from cutting and sewing to running garment companies, becoming designer "brand names," and leading many types of labor unions.
A retired attorney and Leonia resident who specialized in intellectual property law, Danish serves on the Executive Board of the New York Labor History Association and is the Editor of the association's newsletter, “Work History News," as well as its book review editor. Danish has lectured widely on topics ranging from law and the U.S. Supreme Court to baseball’s business and labor history, and American history.He has an immediate family connection to the early days of the Int'l Ladies Garment Workers Union.

Bergen County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is the only nonprofit in the county that recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers to advocate for children in the foster care system. These Advocates visit regularly, monitor well-being, and advocate in court for children’s medical, educational, and emotional needs—helping them heal and thrive.
