He made his American debut in 2008 at the Newport Music Festival in Rhode Island. Pianist Ilya Kazantsev, also born in Russia, has performed at recitalists and soloists with orchestras extensively in Russia and the U.S., as well as appearing in Canada, Ukraine, Belarus, Slovenia, Italy, Germany, and Japan. He made his sold out solo debut at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in November 2007 as a winner of the Nadia Resenberg Piano Award at Mannes College. These international, award-winning musicians will join together in a recital to perform Beethoven’s Sonata for violin No. 9, Op. 47 “Kreutzer” arranged for cello and piano by Franchomme, and Grieg’s Sonata for cello and piano Op. 36.
