Action Against Hunger Food Drive/Helping Hands Food Pantry

TEANECK JUNIOR SOCCER LEAGUE
PARTNERS WITH HELPING HANDS FOOD PANTRY

 Food Drive Scheduled for Sunday, October 2nd

 Teaneck Junior Soccer League (TJSL)has partnered with the Helping Hands Food Pantry in Teaneck to sponsor a food drive during all TJSL soccer games on Sunday, October 2nd.  The event, in conjunction with the North Jersey Media Group Foundation/Action Against Hunger Food Drive, will benefit Teaneck residents in need. 

Players, families and residents can bring unopened cans, boxes, non-perishables and toiletries to soccer fields across the town on Sunday, October 2nd.  Drop-off locations include:

Votee Park from 1:00 - 7:00 PM

Argonne Park from 1:00 - 4:00 PM

Sagamore Park from 1:00 - 4:00 PM

Thomas Jefferson Middle School from 1:00 - 4:00 PM

Items can also be dropped off at the Helping Hands Food Pantry (185 West Englewood Ave) from Noon to 4:00 PM.

"This is a wonderful example of how two community organizations can raise awareness about local issues and do something about it," said TJSL Vice President, Alex Schudrich.  "The Helping Hands Food Pantry is making a meaningful difference in the lives of many Teaneck families and we are more than proud to not only help with this food drive but also to promote community service among our 750 players in the league."

"Over the last several years, more and more Teaneck families have relied on our services to help with their weekly food needs," said Janice Preschel, Director of Helping Hands Food Pantry. "By partnering with Teaneck Junior Soccer League, we are able to greatly extend our message and help re-stock our shelves so that we continue to help those in need."
