Elizabeth Runaquist

Noted art therapist, Elizabeth Rundquist discuesses the many paths of wellness

Ms. Rundquist is a Fellow at the International Psychotherapy Institute, an art therapist and has provided individual and family supportive and psychodynamic verbal/visual therapy. She has conducted group art therapy sessions, developed and co-led “Creative Expressions Workshop” a continuing nine-week session that was constantly revised and adapted to meet the changing needs of clients. The “Workshop” consisted of Art Therapy, group therapy, individual mentoring, and a plenary.  An Art Show completed each program.

The give and take of group process resulted in a positive experience, enhancing mental health. The here-and-now of group process lessened anxieties, increasing trust and the ability to relate. Client’s self-esteem, latent creative expressive abilities flourished. Stigmatization was decreased, normalization was increased.
