Free STEAM Events this Week at Greater Bergen County Y
STEAM activities for students age 5-10 with an interest in STEAM

[HACKENSACK, June 29]— The Greater Bergen County YMCA is pleased to invite local families to Free STEAM (science technology engineering art and math) Events and Summer Camp Open House for local families with children curious and interested in exploring the world around us. The evening is open to all children entering grades kindergarten through 4.
STEAM Events will be held twice during the week of June 28. The first event will be held on Wednesday, July 1 at 1:00 pm via Zoom. Children will participate in the Polar Bear Blubber Project. This event will be done virtually.
The second event will be a Lego Catapult Challenge on Friday, June 3 at 9:30 am. This event will occur at the Greater Bergen County YMCA located on Main Street in Hackensack. During the activity, families will be able to meet the directors, learn about camp, enjoy programs and participate in FREE STEAM activities. Families should RSVP for the free STEAM events by emailing Anjole King at aking@metroymcas.org.
Each week at Summer STEAM camp, we will concoct and construct hands-on experiments and STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art and Math) projects that delight a child’s sense of wonder. We foster community, promote personal growth and stimulate summer learning with discussions, outdoor play, art projects, gardening and more! Daily outdoor activities and virtual field trips each session will help campers become more aware of STEAM projects right here in New Jersey.
