Fundraiser Started For Teaneck Family After Fire Damages Home

The Schreck family needs clothes, coats and shoes.

TEANECK, NJ — A fundraiser has been started for a township family whose home was damaged by a fire Sunday.

The Schreck family is safe, but much of the children's clothes, shoes and "general comforts" have been destroyed, a GoFundMe page launched to help the family states.

More than $4,800 was donated the family as of Sunday night.

Members of The Community Charter School and the community are being asked to donate what they can to help the family, Shelley Eleby wrote on the page.

The fire started at Rosanne and Gerald Ryan's Sherman Avenue home at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday, according to published reports.

The Ryans, both 81, were killed in the blaze, The Daily Voice reported.
