Green Thumbs Rejoice: Teaneck Community Gardens Open

TEANECK, NJ — As Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer, Teaneck gardeners can rejoice in another summer benchmark, the start of gardening season.

Per an executive order issued on May 23 from the township, Teaneck Community Gardens are open to registered gardeners as of Tuesday, May 26. The gardens, located on the east end of Lindbergh Boulevard, will follow social distancing guidelines.

According to the order, the gardens are open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and occupancy is limited to 50 percent. Only one gardener is allowed per plot.

Gardeners are asked to wear face coverings in the gardens where social distancing is hard to maintain, and masks must be worn when entering and exiting the garden area.
