Irate Bergen County Woman Drove Car Into Cop: Police

Shanice Dicks, 26, was charged with 2 counts of aggravated assault.

TEANECK, NJ — An irate woman hit a police officer and a police vehicle during a traffic stop Monday and charged with two counts of aggravated assault, police said.

Officer Vincent Siekierski stopped Shanice Dicks, 26, of Teaneck, at River and New Bridge roads at 11:19 p.m. for equipment violations, said New Milford Detective Lt. Kevin Van Saders.

While explaining the violations, Dicks became irate and screamed at Siekierski. She then put her vehicle in reverse and backed into Siekierski's patrol vehicle, Van Saders said.

Siekierski reached into the Prius and tried to put it in park, but Dicks put the car into drive, hit him with the car, and drove away, Van Saders said.

Police pursued Dicks into Teaneck and stopped her on Northnumberland Street. She was taken into custody and taken back to New Milford Police Headquarters, the lieutenant said.

Dicks was charged with: Aggravated assault by auto while eluding police, aggravated assault on a police officer, eluding police, and other violations. She was released on remand with a court date in Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court.

Siekierski was not injured and the police vehicle received minimal damage.
