Teaneck High School Students Learn About Personal Finance

More than 30 THS students visited the Capital One/Junior Achievement Finance Park at Verizon's Newark Headquarters to learn about managing personal finances.

“I learned the benefits and very difficult disadvantages of the economic world.  I understand why the things I ask for are primarily given on birthdays and holidays," one student said in a press release. 

More than 3,000 students from Teaneck, Newark, The Oranges, Jersey City, Plainfield, Paterson, Camden and other areas will participate in the program, which runs from Feb. 2 through April 7, according to a press release.

At the Capital One/Junior Achievement Finance Park, students are assigned fictional jobs, families and expenses to help them learn about managing money and creating budgets, the release said.
