Beginning Monday, June 22, Teaneck Public Library will be offering contactless doorside pickup of materials for all Teaneck library cardholders.

Please note that this is a limited offering of in-person access to materials, and is the first step in a phased reopening of the library. BCCLS is currently not delivering materials for holds. Teaneck library cardholders will only be eligible to pickup materials from Teaneck Public Library.

To get started:

  1. Place a Hold. Reserve up to (10) items for contactless doorside pickup at the library online through the BCCLS catalog, or by calling the Reference Department (for Adult books) at 201-837-4171 ext 2 or the Youth Services Department (for Children and Teen books) at 201-837-4171 ext 4. The fastest service will be to reserve items online through the catalog. If we are not able to answer your call due to high call volume, please leave a message. Or let us surprise you! Fill out a brief form and we’ll select books for you based on your preferences.
  2. Notification. Wait to receive a phone call from the library to be notified that your holds are available and ready to be picked up.
  3. Park and Call. Drive to Teaneck Public Library (840 Teaneck Road) and wait in your vehicle in the parking lot. Or if you’re walking, please remain 20 feet from the building. Call 201-837-4171 ext 0 to inform staff you are outside for pickup.
  4. Collect Items. Please wait in your vehicle or 20 feet from the building while a staff member delivers your items to the contactless doorside pickup table (underneath the library tent). Once staff have returned to the building, you can exit your vehicle and collect your items. Please remain 6 feet from any other people in the parking lot or outside of the library.
