Teaneck Police Destroy 380 Pounds Of Unwanted Medications

Medications were dropped off at the department's take back box.

TEANECK, N.J. — More than 380 pounds of unwanted prescription medications have been dropped off at the police department since the department began accepting medications there.

Officers recently took the medications to be destroyed.

There has been a new push by local, county, and state law enforcement agencies to accept unwanted prescription medications. The goal is to reduce the opioid and prescription medication dependency in the United States.

Medications may be dropped off at the department's take back box. No needles will be accepted. The department is located at 900 Teaneck Road.
