Property owners and residents are being advised that Private Property & Back Yard Summer Camps are Not Permitted by the New Jersey Department of Health or Local Zoning Codes.

Licensed Day Care Facilities are permitted under Local Zoning Codes provided that the homeowner provide proof of licensing by the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH).

Without a license by the NJDOH and approval by the Zoning Department of Teaneck, you can only have up to (5) children in a play group that are not related to the property owner, plus any children of the property owner do not count in that group of (5). Any group in excess of what is permitted is unlawful and will be handled as such. This is for the protection and safety of children in our community, in accordance with State and local laws.

Proof of Day Care Licensing from the NJDOH MUST be provided to the Teaneck Department of Zoning: zoning@teanecknj.gov and Teaneck Health Department: health@teanecknj.gov in order to provide a daycare on facility in Teaneck.
