Teaneck’s Karen Willick appointed Clinic Manager at Pediatric Occupati
New Role and Responsibilities Center on Enhancing Patient Care and Success
Teaneck/Waldwick, NJ, April 10, 2023 -- Dr. Chaye Lamm Warburg, Director of Pediatric Occupational Therapy Services (POTS) has announced the appointment of Teaneck native Karen (KB) Willick, OT as Clinic Manager.
In her new role, Willick will oversee a clinical staff of Occupational, Physical, Speech, Feeding, Sensory Integration, and Aqua therapists providing therapy in Teaneck and Waldwick offices. . She is now responsible for hiring, training, and supervising therapists, managing POTS’ service in schools, and developing new programs.
For Willick, the leadership role is an exciting opportunity to foster teamwork and collaboration which enhances patient care. “I’ve always believed that we shouldn’t place limits on our expectations for our patients,” she explains. “With patience and perseverance, we can help patients reach goals and achieve success previously thought impossible.” She adds, “And while each therapist brings their own unique skills and experience, our collaborative team approach helps maximize our patients’ potential.”

Willick also believes that ongoing communication with parents is key for a child’s success. “Communication with parents, pediatricians, and others on the child’s team will be a focus of staff professional development,” she explains. “Through effective communication, we can deepen a parent’s understanding of their child and coach them on at-home strategies to support the goals of therapy.”

An occupational therapist with more than 26 years of experience, Willick was voted one of New Jersey Family Magazine’s Top Docs of 2022. One of her particular areas of expertise is working with verbal and non-verbal children with autism to prepare them for a successful school experience.
She earned her master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Columbia University in 1995 and has broad experience in a variety of settings, including Pediatric Rehabilitation Hospitals, Early Intervention, Adult Rehabilitative Outpatient Clinics, schools, private home settings and private Pediatric Clinics.
