Teaneck Urges Residents To Participate In Census Day of Action
In a message on the township website, Teaneck residents were asked to participate in U.S. Census activities on May 14.
TEANECK, NJ — Thursday, May 14 is a statewide Census Day of Action, and Teaneck is urging residents to participate.
Highlighted in the initiative is the Friends and Family Outreach call program. The program asks that participants call five friends, neighbors or family members to ask that they fill out their Census.
In a message posted to the Teaneck Township website, the town states that census participation could help the state in coronavirus recovery.

"Completing your Census is a big step towards helping our New Jersey communities over the next 10 years. Accurate Census data will be very instrumental in helping to address the effects of COVID-19 through related federal funding that would be associated to recovery," the note read.
Due to the coronavirus, the U.S. Census Bureau put a pause on operations, but announced in a May 4 news release that a phased restart began last week.

No Census operations have been slated to resume in New Jersey as of Wednesday, May 13.
